How To Resolve Copyright Cases from QT Luong
“I am a professional photographer who makes a living selling licenses to use my photographs in a wide range of formats. The unlicensed commercial use of my photos threatens my livelihood; accordingly, I have to take it seriously. I always try to resolve claims outside of court before filing a lawsuit. So please work with my lawyer so that we can avoid having to involve the courts. My initial offer is typically based on a multiplier used by courts or authorized by law and my licensing history. Please understand, that it does not make sense for me to give people who get caught using my photos without a license the same prices as those who properly license them. However, if believe the offer to resolve the claim is too high, please let my attorney know why and provide some information he may not have, such as how you used the image, how long you used the image, all instances of you using the image and how you obtained it. You are welcome to submit a counteroffer based on facts that you present. If you have a license please let my attorney know, I will update my records and apologize for the inconvenience. QT Luong
