Hany Gonzalez is an Associate Attorney in the Copyright Division. Ms. Gonzalez represents creative professionals in copyright matters and other intellectual property proceedings.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Gonzalez primarily did transactional work for major studios and productions. After law school, Ms. Gonzalez worked on the first season of the critically acclaimed daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show as its legal coordinator. Most recently, Ms. Gonzalez worked for The Dr. Oz Show as the show’s digital attorney, handling promotions and reviewing original web content.
A Miami native, Ms. Gonzalez earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Boston College, where she also minored in Secondary Education. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. While in law school, Ms. Gonzalez specialized in entertainment and media law. Through her internships, she gained experience in different aspects of the entertainment industry, such as copyright and trademark litigation, drafting agency package formulas, and drafting a variety of talent/production agreements. She also served as an officer in student organizations such as Entertainment and Sports Law Society and Women in Entertainment Law Society, mainly mentoring first-year students interested in pursuing a legal career in entertainment.
Ms. Gonzalez is licensed to practice in the State of California, Northern District of California, Southern District of California, and Central District of California. A first-generation Cuban American, Ms. Gonzalez is fluent in Spanish In her free time, Ms. Gonzalez enjoys reading and swimming in Miami’s beaches.
